Werrington Hillclimb
Werrington Hillclimb, near Lauceston Cornwall, was the venue for the latest event. A great place, the track at Werrington Park runs up to, and across the front of the country house. The track then goes goes around the side, past some cottages and other outbuildings. Finally a quick blast down the finish straight, between two very solid stones walls!
Saturday:Overnight rain made the track quite greasy to start with, but once the first practise runs had gone through, things started to dry out, and times came down. 1st prac-51.86, 2nd prac-42.37, 1st timed-41.68, 2nd timed-40.47. My best time there is 39.7 secs. Achieved 2nd in Class behind Neal Coles, in very quick (and very light 'bike engined Sylva Riot).
Sunday:
More overnight rain, and a shower early Sunday morning, again made the track slippery. Did my first practise run on slicks as there was no standing water!! The rain threatened all day, but never materialised, but it was considerably colder though. The track dried out and times improved, but were slower than Saturday. 1st prac-49.66, 2nd prac-42.75, 1st timed-41.31, 2nd timed-41.93. As with Saturday, Neal Coles took the Class win, but it was a closer battle. Next event, Wiscombe Park on the 15th & 16th May.Photo's at:-
