New rear wing

Well, it's arrived. A new rear wing for my Global (Ian's, chassis #9715). Designed by Simon McBeath at The Wing Shop, http://www.sm-designs.ndo.co.uk/wingshophome.html , and fabricated by DJ Engineering http://djracecars.com/ , the wing/flap elements are carbonfibre and end plates are aluminium. This new wing is the full width of the Global, and produces greater downforce, but with less drag, than the original wing. Overall weight is about the same.

A re-designed rear diffuser is also being fabricated by me, and the front end aerodynamics will be tweaked to balance out the extra rear downforce. This will be through extra dive-planes, and a duct running from the nose opening, around the radiator, then exiting in the upper bodywork, just before the cockpit. The advice for this has again come from Simon McBeath.

Post "Gurston off" repairs are done, so now the development and upgrades can now commence.
